The Rocks Return to Soil Where The Heart Belongs by SHI Jin-Hua
Taitung Art Museum 28 Aug - 24 Oct 2021 In the end of this summer, Taitung Art Museum invites the conceptual and performance artist SHIJin-Hua to present his latest solo exhibition “The Rocks Return to Soil Where The Heart Belongs” from 28 August 2021. The opening reception will take place in Shan Ge Hall at 2:30 pm on the same day. The exhibit immersed in the legacy between the artist’s father and the artist that as well infused with performance art and conceptual painting would definitely be the unique feast of aesthetics for Taitung audience.
The Rocks Return to Soil Where The Heart Belongs: SHI Jin-Hua comprises two themes. Artist SHI Jin-Hua demonstrates the tailor-made series “Ink Walking” and “Rocks” with a deployment of a black and a white gallery room as undergoing self dialects, exploration, experiment and realization. The arrangement –“Ink Walking” showcased in the black “Shan Ge Hall” and “Rocks” in the white “Hai Wu Hall” – points up SHI’s contemplation on this exhibit is different from the general ones that emphasize on the presentation of conclusion and result but active thinking of performance art instead. SHI’s self-exploration and art practice therefore is being rendered.

Marina Cruz : Tide Table| Curator: Patrick Flores
Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts 16 Jul - 17 Oct 2021 Following the special exhibition of Yoshitomo Nara, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (KdMoFA) has collaborated with Mind Set Art Center (MSAC) to present a heavyweight exhibition: “Tide Table” by Filipino female artist Marina Cruz. This will be Cruz’s first museum show in Taiwan and a fruit of her long-term collaboration with MSAC, which has built a deep engagement in Asian contemporary art and unique tastes in art selection, it serves as the trustworthy platform for collectors. The exhibition is curated by Dr. Patrick Flores, who will serve as the chief curator for Taiwan at the 59th International Art Exhibition, Venice Biennale 2022. The show presents a collection of vital artworks from the artistic practice of Marina Cruz, which involves diverse artistic techniques and media. The artworks on display include paintings on canvases, fabric collages, laminated photos, and embroidery evoked by the artist’s personal history intertwined with the biography of her house comprehensively. Altogether, the collection showcases a variety of aspects of her artistic career spanning over more than 20 years. Read more -
Objects Must Be Comfortable: A Solo Exhibition of Ana Maria Micu
