A Picture on the Wall:A Solo Exhibition by Ana Maria Micu
15 Dec 2018 - 12 Jan 2019 The show consists of paintings, drawings, and a looped animation: a cross-medium tactic that makes an abstraction out of visual reference material gathered from the artist's home and studio over recent years. The aspect that interests her the most is a fascination with the fact that she is able to force coherence out of a broken narrative, apparently on a criterion of which she is not fully aware. Nostalgia Unsettled by Lin Wei-Hsiang
8 Sep - 13 Oct 2018 Dwelling in the mountains, it has always been Lin Wei-Hsiang’s goal to create the realm where the mind and spirit can settle and sublimate. May it be called landscape or shan shui, Lin’s painting reveals a tranquil realm of pure beauty built up with countless layers of dyeing. There is a yearning of Lin’s affections for the mountains, water, trees and clouds, amongst which his body and mind is laid-back and settled. For Lin, nostalgia is not for his birthplace, but for the origin of the soul, where he has never been to and cannot prove its existence. Once he said, “For over a decade, there is only a single theme in my practice, that is to search the origin of the soul.” Read more -

All That Is Solid Melts into Air: A Solo Exhibition by Shi Jinsong in Taipei
14 Apr - 26 May 2018 Shi Jinsong experiences the vicissitudes of time from an "individual identity", in which he constantly attempts to analyze, digest and rebuild the mode of production, power structure and knowledge field of the new era. Shi's unique creative thinking and methodology completes a form of individual's publicness. By means of "violent destruction" such as burning, hitting, tearing, grinding, and chemical reactions, Shi makes the appearance and illusion of objects disappear to reveal the inner truth. From the artist's perspective, this is the only way to face and dissect this era of great change and save oneself from becoming a part that melts into air. Read more -

Rao FU, JHONG Jiang-Ze, TANG Jo-Hung:Chaos
6 Jan - 10 Feb 2018 Chaos is the beginning, as well as the end. According to Greek mythology, Chaos was the first thing to exist, and then came the world and beings. As 2018 commences, the world is overflowed with information, national boundaries are blurred, and remains of history blend with the imaginations of future. Nowadays, art works are produced massively with abundant symbols and codes, which are appropriated readily and discarded arbitrarily. At the age seems to be free, people are still manipulated by the invisible strings of various regulations, customs and systems, staging one drama after another involuntarily. Read more
