"Yee I-Lann : Horizon" features the early digital prints of Malaysian artist Yee I-Lann. Unlike the exhibition "Yee I-Lann:Fluild World" in August, the main theme of this exhibition is focused on the pure and delicate early works, including a total of 17 pieces from the "Malaysiana" and "Horizon" series.
Yee I-Lann studied at the University of South Australia in Adelaide. Currently, in addition to creating art, she also works as an art designer for feature films and teaches in the film department, showing her passion for images. This passion is also fully reflected in her art practice. The "Horizon" series, created in 2003, interprets the horizon through various imaginings using the vast and boundless land of the Australian continent, showcasing the artist's free and unrestrained character. The "Malaysiana" series from 2002 uses portraits taken by the longstanding local photo studio. Through Yee I-Lann 's clever classification, arrangement, and precise mastery of images, the series exhibits unique social and cultural historical fragments, fully reflecting people's sincere emotions of yearning for the future, seeking success, and returning to their roots.
