Matěj Macháček (b. 1992, Czech Republic) has studied at the painting department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He studied briefly at the Taipei National University of the Arts as an exchange student and absorbed the spirit of Chinese ink brush painting. The fusion of European and East Asian artistic traditions allows him to take inspiration from his personal memories and experiences and interpret the imagery and colors of landscape and encounters as iconography. His creative expression is a testament to his distinct approach, characterized by a unique and innovative technique involving the use of ink and acrylic paint on large formats of paper, which allows him to communicate genuine artistic messages on a grander scale. Matěj’s paintings have been exhibited around the world, including notable venues such as MOCA Taipei, the Taitung Art Museum, and galleries in Prague, Czech Republic.
