1989 born in Taipei. Yen’s creations are mainly inspired by the modern day information explosion, and the sensory overload, psychological disconnection, and other human and societal developments, both absurd and humorous, resulting from this drastic change. The works strive to capture the highly varied Taiwanese society and its modern collective state of angst and restlessness through the reiteration and re-characterization of words, images, and stories gathered from online media through the traditional Chinese medium of shui- mo (ink-and-brush) painting.
