Ioan De Moisa was born in 1989 in Transylvania, Romania and currently lives in Cluj Napoca. His works often feature gathering groups and landscape, through which he explores the interaction between man and nature. His landscapes display distinctive geographical features that serve as metaphors of the inner fragments of human existence. They are also the jumping-off point for his self-exploration. In recent years, Moisa has travelled and lived in Bali, Indonesia and several African nations to broaden his horizon. He’s produced a series of pastel and watercolor drawings that serve as the visual diary for his journey abroad. These travel drawings co-exist along his large studio paintings and the two develop a level of intertextuality.
