CHUNG Shun-Wen was born in 1978 under the Bamboo Hat Hill in the picturesque town of Meinong, Kaohsiung, as granddaughter of Taiwanese author CHUNG Lihe and third daughter of Hakka writer CHUNG Tie-min. Graduated from M.A. Program of Department of Fine Arts at Tunghai University with a major in Eastern Gouache. CHUNG mainly uses delicate brushwork and accurate morphological description to record the landscapes of life, and every corner of daily life, such as her father’s white hair, her grandmother’s hands, her mother’s joyful smile, herself in the mirror, the workers in the field, the blooming flowers in the garden, vegetables and fruits on table at evening, and small creatures in daily life. For her, creation is a kind of record, a way to preserve memories. She wants to collect all the “ever-happened” of life through her painting.
